History
North Hayling Recreational Hall was founded by William Hedger in 1925 when he, Tom Brown and Mrs Jane purse became the first Trustees of the Hall. The Hall is officially called the North Hayling Parish hall but over time it has changed. The land was purchased from Mr Alfred Harvey Brown for the sum of £95 in May of that year. It was officially opened on 16th September 1925. The trustees and some of the local people raised money to build the hall. They went with horse and cart around North and South Hayling raising money. Originally there was a voluntary membership which had members from North and South Hayling, the membership went towards paying for the original building of the hall. Eventually the membership was fazed out. Over the years extra money has been raised to add extensions to the original hall, resulting in what we have now. Today the the hall is still run by trustees with help from locals from all over the island.
Hall Facilities
Facilities include:
- Large carpark for around 20 cars
- The main hall measuring approx. 16.5mtrs x 6.5 mtrs and a raised stage area of 2.3mtrs x 4.7mtrs
- Kitchen facilities with large cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave also large fridge/freezer. The kitchen is open plan with serving area/hatch
- Male and female toilets available with an additional accessible/disabled toilet
- Garden is an all grassed area along side the hall approx. 20mtrs x 8mtrs
- There are 120 chairs and 16 tables measuring 6ft by 2.5ft
- All facilities are included in the hire of the hall
HIRE PRICING
Hall Hire Charges:
- Hours hired includes the set up and clean up time (please allow for this when making your booking)
- Regular hire e.g. every week hire £12 an hour
- Normal hire e.g. including children/adult parties, meetings, christening etc £15 an hour
- Wedding hire / All day £200 day
- All new prices as of 1st October 2021
